Description
Utomilumab is under investigation for the treatment of various cancers including colorectal cancer (CRC); it has shown promise in preclinical and early clinical studies by enhancing immune responses against tumors; however, its use in CRC is still experimental and no brand name has been approved yet.
Mechanism of Action
Utomilumab is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that binds to the CD137 receptor, also known as 4-1BB, which is expressed on activated T cells and NK cells; it acts by enhancing T cell proliferation and cytokine production, thereby amplifying immune responses.
