EU Experimental ES Not available 1 Clinical Trials

Description

Xp-102 is an experimental medication currently being studied in clinical trials for certain advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer. It is specifically being investigated in patients whose tumors have a BRAF V600 mutation. This medication is being tested in combination with another drug called trametinib. The goal of the trials is to determine the safety and effectiveness of Xp-102, both alone and with trametinib, in patients with these specific types of cancer. It is not yet approved for use in colorectal cancer or any other cancer.

Mechanism of Action

Xp-102 is being studied as a potential treatment for cancers with a BRAF V600 mutation. The specific way it works (its mechanism of action) is still being investigated in clinical trials. It is thought to target processes involved in tumor growth and survival, potentially interfering with the signaling pathways activated by the mutated BRAF protein. It is being tested in combination with trametinib, which targets a different protein (MEK) in the same pathway.

Side Effects

Because Xp-102 is still in early-phase clinical trials (Phase 1) The full range of potential side effects is still being evaluated. Information from the NCT05275374 trial will help determine the safety profile. Common side effects observed in early trials of similar drugs or in trials combining Xp-102 with trametinib might include fatigue Skin reactions Gastrointestinal issues And other effects related to the specific way the drug interacts with the body. More detailed information on side effects will become available as the trials progress.

Not all side effects are listed. Side effects vary by individual. Always consult your oncologist.
