Description

Ve800 is an investigational medication currently being studied in clinical trials for certain types of advanced or metastatic cancer, including microsatellite-stable (MSS) colorectal cancer (CRC). It is being tested in combination with nivolumab, an immunotherapy drug already approved for other cancers. The goal of the trials is to see if this combination is safe and effective in patients whose tumors may not respond well to other treatments. Ve800 is designed to potentially boost the body's immune system to fight the cancer. It is not yet approved for use in CRC or any other cancer.

Mechanism of Action

Ve800 is designed to enhance the immune response against the tumor. It is being studied in combination with nivolumab, which is an immunotherapy drug that works by blocking a protein (PD-1) that prevents the immune system from attacking cancer cells. The specific way Ve800 enhances the immune response is being investigated in clinical trials.

Side Effects

Because Ve800 is an investigational drug Its side effects are still being evaluated in ongoing clinical trials. The most informative trial (NCT04208958) assessed the safety and tolerability of Ve800 in combination with nivolumab. Common side effects associated with nivolumab include fatigue Rash Diarrhea Nausea And cough. The specific side effects observed with the combination of Ve800 and nivolumab are being carefully monitored in the trials.

Not all side effects are listed. Side effects vary by individual. Always consult your oncologist.
