Mechanism of Action
Tsc-202-a0201 is a T-cell receptor (TCR) T-cell therapy. It involves engineering a patient's T cells to express a specific TCR that recognizes a tumor-associated antigen (TAA). In this case, the TAA is MAGE-A4. The TCR on the infused T cells is designed to bind to MAGE-A4 presented by HLA-A*02:01 molecules on the surface of cancer cells. This binding activates the engineered T cells, causing them to kill the cancer cells expressing MAGE-A4. The therapy requires the patient to have the specific HLA-A*02:01 genetic type for the TCR to effectively recognize the target antigen.
