US FDA Approved Oral 1 Clinical Trials

Description

Trisulfate is a bowel preparation solution used for colon cleansing prior to colonoscopy procedures in colorectal cancer patients. This osmotic laxative contains a combination of sulfate salts that effectively clear the bowel to enable adequate visualization during diagnostic and surveillance colonoscopies. Proper bowel preparation with trisulfate is essential for detecting colorectal lesions, polyps, and monitoring treatment response in CRC patients.

Mechanism of Action

Trisulfate works through osmotic action, drawing water into the intestinal lumen to produce liquid stools and mechanical cleansing of the colon. The sulfate salts are poorly absorbed, creating an osmotic gradient that promotes fluid retention in the bowel and stimulates peristalsis for complete evacuation.
