Rintatolimod (** Ampligen® (investigational) **)

Other Medications

Description

Rintatolimod is under investigation for its potential to enhance immune responses against colorectal cancer (CRC). It has shown some promise as an adjuvant therapy, particularly when used alongside other immunotherapies or chemotherapeutic agents. However, it remains investigational and further clinical trials are necessary to define its role in CRC treatment.

Mechanism of Action

Rintatolimod is an immunomodulator that activates toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) upon binding to double-stranded RNA, leading to the production of type I interferons and other cytokines which stimulate immune responses.
