Description
Rina-s (also known as Rinatabart Sesutecan or GEN1184) is an experimental medicine being studied in clinical trials for several types of advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer. Mechanism of Action
Rina-s is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC). It consists of an antibody that targets the folate receptor alpha (FRα), a protein found on the surface of some cancer cells, linked to a chemotherapy drug (sesutecan). The antibody part helps deliver the chemotherapy drug specifically to cancer cells that have FRα. Once attached, the ADC is taken into the cancer cell, where the chemotherapy drug is released, damaging the cell and potentially killing it. The specific chemotherapy drug used is sesutecan.
