Description
PSCA (Prostate Stem Cell Antigen) is a cell surface glycoprotein that serves as a target for immunotherapy approaches in colorectal cancer treatment. Anti-PSCA therapies are designed to selectively target cancer cells expressing this antigen while sparing normal tissue.
Mechanism of Action
PSCA-targeted treatments work by binding to the PSCA protein expressed on tumor cell surfaces, leading to immune-mediated destruction of cancer cells. This approach utilizes the body's immune system to recognize and eliminate malignant cells displaying the PSCA antigen.
