Description

Prucalopride is not used in the treatment of colorectal cancer. It is indicated for chronic constipation and irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C). Its mechanism does not target oncological processes, but rather enhances gastrointestinal motility.

Mechanism of Action

Prucalopride is a selective 5-HT4 receptor agonist that increases propulsive gastrointestinal motility by enhancing acetylcholine release from postganglionic cholinergic nerves in the myenteric plexus.
