Description
OMP-131R10 is an experimental medication currently being studied in clinical trials for certain types of cancer, including colorectal cancer. It is being investigated as a potential treatment option for patients whose colorectal cancer has spread (metastatic) and has progressed after at least one previous treatment. In trials for colorectal cancer, OMP-131R10 is being tested in combination with a standard chemotherapy regimen called FOLFIRI (which includes the drugs 5-Fluorouracil, Irinotecan, and Leucovorin). The goal of these early-phase trials is primarily to assess the safety and determine the appropriate dosage of OMP-131R10 when given with FOLFIRI. It is important to note that OMP-131R10 is not yet approved for use in colorectal cancer and is only available within the context of clinical trials.
Mechanism of Action
OMP-131R10 is designed to target specific proteins involved in the growth and spread of cancer cells. The specific proteins targeted by OMP-131R10 are being characterized in clinical trials. It is administered intravenously (IV).
