Description
N-803 is an interleukin-15 (IL-15) receptor agonist designed to stimulate and expand natural killer (NK) cells and CD8+ T cells as part of cancer immunotherapy. In colorectal cancer treatment, N-803 is used in combination immunotherapy regimens, particularly in patients with microsatellite stable (MSS) tumors and those who have previously received immune checkpoint inhibitors. The agent functions as an immune system activator that enhances the body's natural anti-tumor immune response through IL-15 pathway stimulation.
Mechanism of Action
N-803 works by binding to and activating the IL-15 receptor complex on immune cells, particularly NK cells and memory CD8+ T cells. This activation leads to proliferation, activation, and enhanced cytotoxic function of these immune effector cells, promoting tumor cell killing and immune memory formation against cancer antigens.
