Description
MM-121 is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets the ErbB3 receptor, developed for treatment of advanced solid tumors including colorectal cancer. This targeted therapy is designed to block ErbB3-mediated signaling pathways that contribute to tumor growth and resistance to other cancer treatments. MM-121 has been evaluated in combination with established therapies such as cetuximab and irinotecan in patients with advanced cancers.
Mechanism of Action
MM-121 binds specifically to the ErbB3 receptor (HER3), blocking its activation and subsequent downstream signaling through the PI3K/AKT pathway. By inhibiting ErbB3 signaling, MM-121 aims to overcome resistance mechanisms that tumors develop against EGFR-targeted therapies and enhance the effectiveness of combination treatment regimens.
