Description
Metoclopramide is not used in the treatment of colorectal cancer but rather as an antiemetic and prokinetic agent. It has no direct effect on tumor growth or metastasis; its use in CCR patients would be limited to managing side effects from other treatments such as chemotherapy-induced nausea.
Mechanism of Action
Metoclopramide is a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist and serotonin 5-HT4 receptor agonist, which increases gastrointestinal motility by enhancing acetylcholine release.
