Description
M9466 is a DNA damage response (DDR) pathway inhibitor being evaluated in combination with topoisomerase 1 inhibitors for advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer. This compound targets DNA repair mechanisms that cancer cells rely upon for survival when exposed to DNA-damaging chemotherapy agents. M9466 is designed to enhance the efficacy of topoisomerase 1 inhibitor-based regimens by preventing cancer cells from repairing chemotherapy-induced DNA damage.
Mechanism of Action
M9466 inhibits key proteins in the DNA damage response pathway, specifically targeting mechanisms that allow cancer cells to repair DNA breaks caused by topoisomerase 1 inhibitors like irinotecan. By blocking these repair pathways, M9466 enhances the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy and promotes cancer cell death through accumulated DNA damage.
