Description
Levamisole is an immunomodulatory agent that was used as adjuvant therapy in combination with fluorouracil for stage III colon cancer. It functions as an anthelmintic drug that also possesses immune system stimulating properties in cancer treatment.
Mechanism of Action
Levamisole enhances T-cell function and macrophage activity while stimulating antibody formation and cellular immune responses. It modulates the immune system's ability to recognize and attack cancer cells.
