Description
Oxaliplatin is used in the treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC) as a first-line therapy in combination with fluoropyrimidines and bevacizumab or cetuximab; it also serves as second-line monotherapy. It has shown significant efficacy in clinical trials, particularly when combined with other agents.
Mechanism of Action
Oxaliplatin forms intrastrand DNA cross-links and platinum-DNA adducts, which inhibit DNA replication and transcription.
