Description

Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid medication that is not a primary treatment for colorectal cancer itself. It may be used as supportive care to manage inflammation, allergic reactions to chemotherapy, or other complications in colorectal cancer patients.

Mechanism of Action

Hydrocortisone works by suppressing the immune system and reducing inflammation through binding to glucocorticoid receptors.
