Description

FT825 (also known as ONO-8250) is an experimental therapy being studied in clinical trials for certain types of advanced solid tumors, including colorectal cancer. It is specifically being investigated for patients whose tumors test positive for HER2 (Human Epidermal growth factor Receptor 2). This means the cancer cells have too much of the HER2 protein on their surface. FT825 is a type of immunotherapy called a CAR-T cell therapy. It is being tested in Phase 1 trials to determine its safety, how well it can be tolerated, and if it shows any signs of fighting the cancer. Mechanism of Action

FT825 is a CAR-T cell therapy. CAR-T therapy involves taking a patient's own T cells (a type of immune cell) and modifying them in a lab to recognize and attack cancer cells. In the case of FT825, the T cells are engineered to express a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) that specifically targets the HER2 protein found on the surface of certain cancer cells. These modified CAR-T cells are then infused back into the patient, where they can seek out and destroy cancer cells expressing HER2.
