EU Experimental ES Not available 1 Clinical Trials

Description

ELVN-002 is an experimental medication currently being studied in clinical trials for certain types of advanced cancers, including colorectal cancer. It is being investigated specifically for patients whose tumors test positive for HER2 (Human Epidermal growth factor Receptor 2). Clinical trials are evaluating ELVN-002 alone or in combination with other cancer treatments, such as trastuzumab (a drug that targets HER2) and chemotherapy regimens like CAPEOX or mFOLFOX6. The goal of these early-phase trials is to determine the safety, tolerability, how the drug is processed by the body (pharmacokinetics), and potentially see early signs of effectiveness in patients with HER2-positive colorectal cancer and other HER2-positive solid tumors.

Mechanism of Action

ELVN-002 is being studied in combination with trastuzumab, which targets the HER2 protein found on the surface of some cancer cells. The specific mechanism of action for ELVN-002 itself is being investigated in these clinical trials. It is being evaluated for its potential to enhance the effects of trastuzumab and/or chemotherapy in HER2-positive cancers.

Side Effects

As ELVN-002 is an experimental drug in early-phase clinical trials (Phase 1) The full range of potential side effects is still being evaluated. Information about side effects is being collected during the trials to assess safety and tolerability. Common side effects associated with the drugs it is being combined with (like trastuzumab and chemotherapy) may include nausea Vomiting Diarrhea Fatigue Hair loss And heart problems But the specific side effects related to ELVN-002 are still under investigation.

Not all side effects are listed. Side effects vary by individual. Always consult your oncologist.
