Description

E7386 is a small molecule inhibitor that targets the CBP/p300 bromodomain proteins, which are key transcriptional co-activators involved in cancer cell proliferation and survival. This compound is being evaluated in solid tumors including colorectal cancer, both as monotherapy and in combination with other anticancer agents such as pembrolizumab. E7386 represents a novel approach to cancer treatment by disrupting chromatin remodeling and transcriptional regulation pathways that cancer cells depend on for growth.

Mechanism of Action

E7386 works by selectively binding to and inhibiting the bromodomain and extra-terminal (BET) proteins CBP (CREB-binding protein) and p300, which are critical for the transcription of oncogenes and cancer-promoting genes. By blocking these bromodomains, E7386 disrupts the ability of cancer cells to maintain their malignant phenotype and can lead to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.
