Description
Dato-DXd is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) that combines a monoclonal antibody targeting TROP2 (trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2) with a topoisomerase I inhibitor payload. It is designed to deliver cytotoxic chemotherapy directly to cancer cells that express TROP2, which is found on various solid tumors including breast, lung, and other cancers.
Mechanism of Action
The antibody component binds specifically to TROP2 receptors on cancer cell surfaces, allowing internalization of the conjugate and subsequent release of the topoisomerase I inhibitor payload, which causes DNA damage and cell death.
