Description

CMAB009 is an anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody designed for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer in patients with RAS and BRAF wild-type tumors. This targeted therapy is administered in combination with chemotherapy regimens such as FOLFIRI as first-line treatment for advanced disease. The drug specifically targets patients whose tumors lack mutations in the KRAS and BRAF genes, which are predictive biomarkers for EGFR inhibitor efficacy.

Mechanism of Action

CMAB009 binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on cancer cell surfaces, blocking the receptor's activation and preventing downstream signaling pathways that promote tumor growth and survival. By inhibiting EGFR-mediated cellular proliferation, angiogenesis, and metastasis, the antibody helps slow disease progression in RAS/BRAF wild-type colorectal cancers.
