Description

Canagliflozin is primarily used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and not in colorectal cancer. There are no clinical data supporting its use in CCR as an antineoplastic agent; it remains investigational or off-label outside its approved indications.

Mechanism of Action

Canagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that works by blocking the reabsorption of glucose in the proximal renal tubules, leading to increased urinary glucose excretion.

Hypoglycemia when used with insulin or sulfonylureas; urinary tract infections; genital mycotic infections; acute kidney injury; bone fractures; increased LDL cholesterol; hypersensitivity reactions
