It is approved for first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer in combination with fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy regimens such as FOLFOX or FOLFIRI. The drug is used across different molecular subtypes of CRC including microsatellite stable (MSS) and microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) tumors, and regardless of KRAS, NRAS, or BRAF mutation status. Bevacizumab is also employed in second-line metastatic settings and is being combined with newer immunotherapy agents in pMMR/MSS colorectal cancer.
