Description
Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) and serves as a cornerstone anti-angiogenic therapy in colorectal cancer treatment. It is approved for first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer in combination with fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy regimens such as FOLFOX or FOLFIRI. The drug is used across different molecular subtypes of CRC including microsatellite stable (MSS) and microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) tumors, and regardless of KRAS, NRAS, or BRAF mutation status.
