Azirkitug

Other Medications

Description

Azirkitug is an investigational medication being studied by AbbVie. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials for various solid tumors, including colorectal cancer (CRC). These early-phase trials aim to determine the safety and how the drug is processed by the body (pharmacokinetics). Azirkitug is being tested both alone and in combination with other drugs, such as bevacizumab and budigalimab. The trials are looking at different doses to find the safest and most effective way to use the drug. The trials are enrolling patients with specific genetic characteristics in their tumors, such as EGFR, HER2, VEGF, or VEGFR mutations, or MSI status (MSI-H or MSS). The goal of these initial studies is to gather preliminary data on safety and dosing before potentially moving to larger trials to test effectiveness.

Mechanism of Action

Azirkitug is an investigational drug. The specific way it works (its mechanism of action) is still being studied. It is designed to target processes involved in cancer growth and spread. Clinical trials are evaluating its effects when used alone or in combination with other therapies.

Side Effects

As Azirkitug is an investigational drug in early-phase clinical trials The full range of potential side effects is still being evaluated. The primary goal of the current Phase 1 trials is to assess safety and determine the maximum tolerated dose. Information about specific side effects will become clearer as the trials progress. Participants in the trials are closely monitored for any adverse events.

Not all side effects are listed. Side effects vary by individual. Always consult your oncologist.
