About Dovitinib

Dovitinib is a multi-targeted receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that has been evaluated for maintenance therapy in colorectal cancer patients following standard treatment. This oral small molecule drug simultaneously blocks multiple growth factor receptors involved in tumor progression and angiogenesis. In colorectal cancer, dovitinib has been studied as a maintenance therapy option for patients with advanced disease, particularly in combination with biomarker-guided treatment approaches.

Mechanism Dovitinib inhibits multiple receptor tyrosine kinases including fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3), vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR1, VEGFR2, VEGFR3), platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFR ), and FLT3. By blocking these signaling pathways, the drug disrupts tumor cell proliferation, survival signals, and the formation of new blood vessels that tumors require for growth and metastasis.
