Description

Tipifarnib is under investigation for the treatment of colorectal cancer, particularly in combination with other targeted agents. Its mechanism targets aberrant signaling pathways often activated in CCR, making it potentially useful as part of a multi-agent regimen; however, its efficacy and safety profile are still being evaluated.

Mechanism of Action

Tipifarnib inhibits the farnesyltransferase enzyme, which is involved in post-translational modification of small GTP-binding proteins such as RAS; this inhibition leads to reduced signaling through pathways that promote cell proliferation and survival.
