Description
QL1706 is an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody immunotherapy agent developed for the treatment of colorectal cancer. It is being evaluated both as monotherapy in microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) or mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) colorectal cancer and in combination with bevacizumab and XELOX chemotherapy for advanced metastatic disease. The drug shows particular promise in the neoadjuvant setting for resectable colon cancer with MSI-H status.
Mechanism of Action
QL1706 works by blocking the programmed death-1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, preventing cancer cells from evading immune system detection and destruction. By inhibiting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway, it enhances the body's natural immune response against tumor cells, particularly effective in tumors with high microsatellite instability that have increased immunogenicity.
