Description
PLD is used off-label for colorectal cancer, particularly in maintenance therapy after induction chemotherapy or as a single agent in later lines of treatment. Its efficacy has been demonstrated in clinical trials showing improved progression-free survival compared to placebo in patients with metastatic disease; however, its use remains investigational and not FDA-approved.
Mechanism of Action
PLD is an immunomodulatory drug that works by inhibiting angiogenesis and modulating the immune response; it also has anti-inflammatory properties.
